Regarding Decke and moving.

I know my comments and posts have slowed lately. I've been staying with my best friend Christy, and the wireless internet signal I used to use, left with the neighbors.

I came to a tough decision, a few days ago, regarding Decke. I've talked briefly with Mom but I didn't fully explain I think. Basically, I got Decke the first summer we were out here in Virginia Beach, for my birthday. I've been taking care of him since then, completely by myself. I feed him, give him medicine when and if he needs it, clean the litterboxes, do the basic training (Stay off the counter, don't claw the furniture) and gave him all of his attention.

Since I've been staying with Christy, for the last month and a half or so, Decke has been with Nick and has been neglected badly. It seems the only attention he gets now, is when I go over to pack up more of my belongings. I can't leave him to be neglected with them, so I've made the decision to take him with my to Texas.

I know I can't keep him at your place Jenni, but I can't give him up, and I can't leave him here to be abused or neglected by Nick. I don't know exactly what I will do when I get back to Texas, but I need to make plans that include Decke. I realize that will make things alot harder, but I'm just not willing to abandon a cat AGAIN because of Nick. If it had been my decision, Hunter and Zeero would have never been left with Dad. I'm not insulting Dad, or Anne/Faythe/Neko, or implying they neglect or abuse the animals. I just mean that they should not have had to take the cats in, let alone have to keep them indefinately.

I'm not going to make that mistake twice. I don't know what I will do, as of writing and posting this, but Decke will be a part of it.

In other related news, I will be back in Texas definately this summer. I don't know exactly when yet, or the specifics, but I'm currently looking to rent a U-haul and either have Neil(Christy's husband, and a very good friend) drive with me to Texas, or Mom, who volunteered last night on the phone. If it's Mom, it will be in June sometime, and if it's Neil, it will be July or early August.

So, please keep me in your prayers, and if you have any ideas let me know. Dad and Anne/Faythe/Neko have also extended an offer to stay with them and I could have Decke there as well, but I'm a little concerned about living with Dad again. I have no problems living with Anne, or Rose (or Jenni of course), but I'm very hesitant to be under Dad's roof again, as I've developed some serious psychological issues as a result of the first time. No offense intended to Dad at all. I love him, I just have a hard time living with him.

Anyway, that's all for now. *scratches head*

Testing

I don't know how this is going to look, but I can post to my blog via my cell phone. It'll be good for next time I start freaking out in the middle of the might and can't get online. I'm feeling slightly calmer now.

5 Things Meme

I was tagged by Jenni.

10 Years Ago:
I was living with Dad, about a year from quitting school, and miserable for no good reason.

5 Years Ago:
I met a boy a year after my second really serious relationship died, and we got married after 2 months. Life seemed to be looking up and my relationship was better with most of the family than it had ever been.

5 months Ago:
I knew my marriage was failing but I didn't know why, or how to fix it. Then Nick asked for a divorce right before Christmas.

5 Things on my To Do List Today:
1. Fix my Sims 2 Legacy Lot.
2. Sew at least one doll clothing item.
3. Figure out how I'm getting to Oceana Clinic to pick up my prescriptions.
4. Do a load of laundry.
5. Organize my suitcases for maximum space.

5 Snacks I enjoy:
1. Salty snacks like Chex mix, or Pretzels.
2. Those tiny pies.
3. Chips and queso(or salsa, or chili con queso)
4. Ice cream
5. Pizza

5 Things I would do if I was suddenly a billionaire:
1. Buy a house and an acre or two of land by Christy's farm in East Tennessee.
2. Buy a better car than I'm likely to get otherwise.
3. Start a high return savings account.
4. Buy about a dozen of the dolls on my wishlist, starting with the Full Choice System dolls.
5. Travel all over Texas, and then Europe, to visit my friends in England.

5 of my bad habits:
1. Snacking
2. Procrastinating
3. Yelling when I get to excited
4. Getting angry at Nick or Her even when they are being nice.
5. Giving in to people when I really need to stand up for myself.

5 Places I have lived:
1. Arlington, Texas
2. Fredricksburg, Texas
3. Great Lakes, Illinois
4. Virginia Beach, Virginia
5. McAllen, Texas *NEVER AGAIN

5 Jobs I have had:
1. Six Flags Over Texas, searching bags for Security
2. Michaels Arts and Crafts, Custom Framer
3. TicketMaster, Inbound call center, selling tickets.
4. Fashion Design for Dolls, taking commissions, and selling limited run outfits.
5.

5 Things People don't know about me:
1. I have malformed pinky fingers. They are shorter than the average pinky, and the knuckles are mishapen.
2. I suffer from Trichotillomania - A psychiatric condition in which one has an uncontrollable desire to pull out their own body hair. It is generally considered to be an impulse control disorder but is also associated with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
3. All these years of helping Nick with his spelling, has made me much less sure of my own spelling.
4. Despite myself, and my comfort with mild clutter (MILD, like leaving my backpack by the door instead of hanging it up in my closet), I am extremely germ-phobic.
5. I have what is considered a mild case of obsessive compulsive disorder. I know that won't surprise some of you, but others may be surprised.

Plushies

So, Christy and I have been making plushies lately. She made some adorable Onigiri and Sushi plushies, and I made a few Onigiri plushes, plus a bunny and carrot. :3 They're fun to make, and alot more instant gratification than making clothes like we usually do. I mean we like sewing clothes, alot, but even we need to stop and do something really really fun every once in awhile. Anyway, that's enough of me blathering on. Pics!

First we have Domo showing off his riceball friends.

And Declan, snuggling up to the two I kept.

The bunny, and the carrot! (Ti yours will look something like this but larger.)

And lastly, Michael with the Onigiri that I gave to him. :D

That's all of the sewing/plushie related stuff. I've been staying with Christy lately and we've enjoyed hanging out, and getting out of the apartment together. I get along really well with her, her son Michael, and their dog Sadie. I miss Decke but I get to visit with him when I go back 'home' to pick up more of my stuff.

I know I haven't said alot on here about the divorce or progress or anything, but I'm slowly working towards being back in Texas. If all goes well, I'll be moving back during the summer, possibly as early as July.

I guess that's all for now. I'm sitting enjoying a cookie and a hot chocolate over at Panera bread, and now I'm gonna post this and continue on wherever today's journey takes us. I hope everyone is doing well!

Declan

So, I've been playing with Declan a bit more now that I know who he is, doll-wise. After making his red wig, I decided to get started on some pants or shorts more fitting to his character, because while he is adorable in the green overalls, they're not quite him, I think.

So, I made these. You can see them better here, on my DeviantArt.

And, I wanted to get some photos of him so, I took him with, when Christy and I ran to the store later, and got a few photos outside. She lives in a beautiful apartment complex, with a decorative pond, and a few lovely manicured gardens all over the place.

We got a shot of Declan in one of the blossoming trees. :3 The wind made his wig all fluffy.

You can sort of see the water in this shot, but it doesn't properly portray the beautiful scene, so I got a better shot of it. As you may imagine, there are ducks all over, especially around the water. This time of year, they are fat and happy.

And I got a couple more shots of Declan, on by the water, and one relaxing on some rocks in one of the gardens.

And once we got back indoors I took a picture of Declan and Ichigo. :3

All in all I've been productive, and DESPITE the high stress last two and a half to three weeks, I'm feeling pretty good, in general. @_@

Surprise packages and fun stuff.

Okay.. So I've been offline for a few days, not counting last night. I got mostly caught up on reading my livejournal friendslist, and MAN do ya'll post alot. XD;; Seriously, I had to go back 120 entires till I found one I'd already read. This is like, three days worth of posts too. I'm not like gonna do a friends cut or anything, cause I love ya'll and there isn't anyone I want to not read on my list. Just commenting that ya'll write alot. XD;;

Anyway, that's not what I wanted to say. I have a crapton of photos to post, which I may or may not spread out over two or three entries. To start off, I made Declan a new wig. Christy was kind enough to share this beautiful natural red faux fur she has. It's a nice color, kind of a fox red.

Despite the pouty look, Declan seems pleased, in my opinion.

And speaking of pleased, I got a package from my buddy Alison the other day. She made a lovely hat and scarf set for Ichigo, shown below, and included some other sweet stuffs. :3

They were in this adorable little Hello Kity bag that made me squeal with delight. And, the note she included was on ADORABLE stationary. I blurred out the note for privacy but you can see the really cute design. :3

Also included were these really cute lavender flower buttons, this t-shirt iron on, and this beautiful flowered fabric. :3

I don't know exactly what I'm going to do yet with the buttons or the beautiful fabric, but the iron-on is gonna be a shirt for Elliot, since it's perfectly scaled for SD size. :3 Thank you so much Alison! <3

Next entry up in a bit, with Declan pictures and all. :3

Ugh..

Oh man.. so yesterday was just a bad day in general. Christy is suffering from what we thing may be flu, and I don't seem to have caught it. My sleep schedule is somewhat out of whack, which is fairly normal for me, but inconvenient. Yesterday I went to sleep around 8am, after seeing Michael onto his school-bus so that Christy could rest. And, I woke in the early afternoon from a horrifying bad dream. It was bad enough that it affected me rather negatively for the rest of the day, and I became a bit neurotic later in the evening, ending in tears. I seem to be doing better now, and we'll see if today is better, after I've slept a little. Hopefully I'll not have horrible dreams this time. @_@ *crosses fingers*

That's enough of that though. I finished up Myriai's commission last night, and I'm finally satisfied with the results. The pants took a couple of tries before I was happy with them. Then for Declan, I made a Domo-kun plushie.

And, one of him with Declan.

This one is a bit rough, not really extremely well made but for a first attempt, I'm happy. Declan looks pleased as well. :3

I'm still a little high strung but hopefully after a nap, I'll be in a better frame of mind. I hope ya'll all have really great days!

Help with my theme?

I want to make my Blog look like my other online journal, but the controls are really different. How do I set up custom colors for text, windows, etc on Blogger? How about a custom background image? I have a whole theme mapped out already, but I don't know how to translate it from my current theme, to this. Any of my talented siblings want to help me out? Photobucket

With my recent realization that I own a good amount of Domo-kun merchandise, I decided to make my blog match. I also whipped up a wallpaper for my cellphone, and I found a guide online for making a custom Domo-kun cover for your ipod. I'm considering making one. :3 But, this is the wallpaper I made for my phone, which I also shrunk down for my default icon.

And, on my actual phone, where you can also see the cellphone charm I have of Domo-kun. :3

With my new wallet that brings my collection to my Domo hoodie, which you can only sort of see here, in an older photo, my wallet, and the cell phone charm. As well as a Domo Calender that Ginny got for me. :3

You can see the hoodie better here, on Nick.

I'd also like to get or make a t-shirt, make a stuffed domo for Declan, and maybe a bigger one for me, make the ipod cover, and get the Domo beanie that Hot Topic has for like $12.

And as for my layout, since you can't really see it clearly on my main page, this is the background image I made. Click it to see it full-sized.

Epic day, which was yesterday.

Le Gasp! I predicted, fairly early into the day (around 9am) that this was going to be an awesome and possibly EPIC day. I was totally right. It started off a little weird but that's a story for another day to be joined by a rant, which I don't feel like launching into right now.

So we (Christy, Michael, and I) took the bus down to Pembroke Mall and it was pretty nice. It was rainy off and on and I picked up a mini-umbrella shortly before we got on the bus, which I carried around all day and only opened like twice, maybe three times. We ran all over the mall like little kids hopped up on sugar with no nap in sight, and it was awesome. Kelly's Tavern was our lunch destination where I had a delicious club sandwich toasted and served on decorative toothpicks, somewhat like a shishkabob, and a caesar salad for my side, with a strawberry milkshake. Mmmmmmmm..

Then we went into Claires and I saw these adorable star earrings that were marked down to like $2, which was too great a deal to pass up, so I got them. I put a blue star in my left ear, and a green one in my right. 8D

Then we went next door to Hot Topic cause I needed a new wallet (my batman wallet broke!) and I wanted to see if they had the semi-permanent hairdye in blues, greens, and pinks. I found these awesome shoelaces first, and since I've been looking for the right pair of shoes, for, oh a few months now, I snagged them, to decorate, whatever shoes I ended up getting. They're little happy popsicles! And the sad bitten-into popsicle. Yay! And there's little clouds and rainbows! Wheeeee!

And then Christy found the hairdye! The pink was very tempting but they only had the waterbased, lasts like 3 washes hot pink, so I went with blue, since there was a 4-6 weeks dye in a lovely shade of bright blue. I haven't used it yet but I probably will tomorrow. I was so spazzy I dashed right past it when I saw the brightly colored shoelaces.

And then I found the wallets, again with Christy's help, cause apparently when I'm that hyper I'm also BLIND. They were like right next to the hairdye, and very very visible. I of course got the Domo-kun one, because I love Domo. Now I just need the Domo beanie! Wheee!

The stuff in Hot Topic wasn't on sale but with my Military discount it was awesome. 8D

And now the epic story of my shoes. I am one of those weird people that generally only likes to own one or two pairs of shoes at a time. I currently have.. three pairs of sneakers and a pair of flipflops and that makes my brain explode. That's more shoes than I need. BUT ENOUGH OF THAT.

These are my current pair of shoes, that I wear like every day, and have for the past three years. As you can see they look rather rough now.

And, this is what they USED to look like! What a contrast!

They will probably last another year at least until they are just too ratty to keep. As is, they're my OH NO BAD WEATHER shoes, or my 'Oh, I need to throw on some shoes really fast and dash over to the store.' shoes. I did try to get a second pair of shoes, a bit over a year ago, but they never properly broke in. My first Vans were insanely comfortable and never HAD to be broken in. My second pair, pictured below, are the most uncomfortable pair of sneakers I've EVER worn. I keep them because they are pretty and I can wear them for short bursts if I'm not doing a ton of walking. Plus they were $50 and I hate wasting money.

They're really pretty but, one day I was walking over to Christy's, and the backs on them gave me insane blisters and popped them within a block and a half of walking. I kid you not. I thought they were already pretty well broken in at that point too. So, they're still in great condition but I do not wear them very often if at all. So, I've pretty much been in the market for a good pair of sneakers since about when I got these.

Today, I looked around in a few shoe stores and, I WANTED these shoes! Unfortunately, they had only one pair, a size 11 in Mens. D: No way, could I wear that shoe, no matter how much I would love to, cause my feet are way too small. I'm sorry for the size and quality of the pictures but I took the pics with my camera phone.

So, we moved on to a couple of other stores and then hit Kohls on our way out to the Barnes and Noble accross the street from the mall. Where, Christy pointed out this awesome Batman shirt, which was on sale for about $10 instead of the normal $18. It's FUZZY.

And then we wandered through shoes and I found THESE. On sale for $35 (rather than $65) and I couldn't resist. I tried them on, and they were so comfy and fit so nicely, and I just couldn't resist. I needed some new shoes and these were perfect.

Seen here with my AWESOME shoelaces!

And even after all this splurging (HOORAY SALES!) I still have money left over for groceries, which is not an accident. So, after we finished shopping we were tired and sore. We went over to the Barnes and Noble, and then dashed next door to.. a music store? I can't remember the name. And then we ran to the bus stop to catch our line back to Christy's place. We ran through some rain but I didn't bother to get the umbrella out, cause the worst of it was over pretty quickly, and it's not like we're made of sugar. It was warm and sunny but also raining. The bus ride was pretty uneventful and we stopped at Food Lion for some caffeine and then settled into Christy's for about a half hour, to an hour.

Then we walked down to San Jose's which is about halfway between Christy's apartment and my apartment, and met Ti Chan for dinner. Ti had enchiladas, Michael had a quesodilla, Christy had delicious looking tamales, along with a BEER THE SIZE OF HER HEAD! I took a picture with my cellphone but it didn't turn out.

So.. that was my EPIC DAY OF AWESOME! YAY! It was a wonderful day, and I was too tired at the end to type all this out. @_@ Best Tuesday ever!

I'm Rory or Rorek in most places. I design, sew, and craft, primarily for my Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls. I also dabble in interior design, but I'm a little out of practice.

I post about the things I enjoy, which are sewing, photographing my dolls, designing new outfits, knitting, which I started in September of 2008, thanks to my Mom, and occasionally drawing, or painting.

I also post about Life Events and how they affect me and those that I love.

Currently I am living in DFW, Texas in the USA and working towards a degree in Theology.
