Cool Autumn Rain

I've been trying at every opportunity to get some shots of my boys in the rain. Only today was there enough light when it rained, that I was able to get any shots. Maybe next time I can get the twins ready in time too.

Blue floof

It's been a little while since my last post. I've been up and down, emotionally. I'm doing okay at the moment, thanks to a night of chatting and relaxing with Christy. :3 I made a fluffy blue wig for Ichigo. I've been wanting to make that one for a few days but my fingers have been sore due to excessive sewing. And, I still have alot to finish in the next 2 weeks leading up to Nekocon. Some things will be easier than others.

Ichigo and Owen:

He looks weird in pics with the blue wig, but he's adorable with it in person. It's crazy soft too. I can't wait to make more stuff from this fur. @_@

And a couple of me, since I haven't posted any in a while.

I've been feeling kind of blah lately but I think things are gonna be alright. I'm feeling creative again, and my fingers aren't as sore anymore so I can get back to sewing again. Which is good, cause I wasn't kidding about having alot to finish by Nekocon (November 2nd-4th).

Spoiled brats! <3

It's been a little while since I've posted anything animal related. The animals are all doing pretty well.

Hammy has some tubes to explore now, which he loves, and Taz and Peepi have a little bit of tubes as well. Hammy has seemed a little depressed or lonely lately, but I'm still grieving for Cartman. I'm not ready to try and find him a cage mate, but I will admit that he would benefit from one. Anyway, this is what his current setup looks like. The cage is out in the living room only because Ti couldn't sleep. I kept a close eye on him, and the cats. :3 That's Owen staring at him, as he runs on the wheel.

Oh, and I'm sure ya'll have noticed the bright light on my desk in recent doll photos. Well Decke thinks it's for him. I put a soft blanket up on the desk for him to chill on, and he basks under the warm, purring loudly. Eventually purring fades to gentle snoring and we get this:

Dolls dolls dolls.

I finished Ichigo's vest and shorts today. Well, the shorts still need a little bit of tweaking, and the vest still needs a little more, but they're mostly done. Ichigo's Ninja oufit is nearly complete. I now, only need his weapon container, the one that straps to his thigh, and his scroll, etc container, that hooks onto the back of his pants.

I never knew a Tsubaki could look so badass. That's my Ichigo for ya. Oh, and the cat in the first shot is Owen. He keeps stealing Decke's warm spot, under my craft lamp.

And I've suddenly come up with an idea for Ichigo's shuriken. I'm gonna use shrinkydinks! The only problem will be figuring out how big I need to make them before I bake them. I'll have to do a few tests. I'm not sure what to do about his kunai. Any ideas?

Oh and I'm also gonna be re-naming Cory. I've been politely asked not to use that name anymore, by Ti, and I can understand why. So, I'm considering new names, that will still fit with his twin Reginald. I'm thinking maybe Reginald and Frederic. So, Reggie and Fred, or Freddy. What do ya'll think? Does this face say "Fred" to you?

Ichigo and Nekocon

So, I've been working on Naruto ninja stuff for Ichigo, and I think he's gonna be the only one I dress up, except for Isaac, for Nekocon. Isaac is gonna wear Elli's Panda Outfit, and Ichigo is gonna be a ninja. Not cosplaying anyone in particular. Just a ninja. I'll be making him a vest, some long grey or black shorts, the two pouches that hold scrolls and kunai/shuriken, and maybe even a new wig. I'm also considering sculpting some kunai.

So far, I've made him a ninja headband with the Konoha leaf symbol, and a pair of black ninja shoes. What do ya'll think?

And some closeups of the shoes:

They're a little loose in the toe but I like them. They were loose on the top too, but I stitched in some black elastic, which is virtually invisible, and holds them up and flush against his shins.

I'll also be making extra headbands with the various village symbols on them, to sell/trade/etc at Nekocon. If there is interest, I may make more shoes, but I'm not sure about that.

Good to be alive.

I've been sewing alot lately. I've probably already said so, but it's worth mentioning again. I've sewn more in the last month, than the previous 11 months combined. I'm not complaining mind you. I'm grateful to be productive again.

I got what I needed from the Zoloft. Coping tools, an easier calmness, and a year of mellowness. Unfortunately, the side affects outweighed the benefits, of continued use. Mellow really does not describe the state I was in. Sure, it was easy for others to be around me, but I wasn't even a shadow of my former self. Easy to get along with, but not fun.

I became fearful of speaking about things that bothered me. Rather than defusing situations, I kept quiet until things were way past out of hand.

It was hard to come off of the Zoloft. My mood swings were worse than ever, for about three weeks, gradually fading, or mellowing. I feel calm again, but I can FEEL. I have the mellowness, the calm, that I need, but I also have a drive to DO things. I want to work, I want to play, I want to go places and see things. All I did before was sleep, and sit at my computer. I'd go out with friends maybe if they came by, but not to do anything. We'd walk around the mall, then go home. Or go to the beach, then home. We never really DID stuff. I never really did anything.

Now I'm sewing, and job hunting, and sleeping healthier amounts of time, and still have time and energy to play video games, or watch movies. I'm getting so much more done now. I still procrastinate. I still forget things, but I feel alive.

I'm happy to be alive.

About Me

My photo
I'm Rory or Rorek in most places. I design, sew, and craft, primarily for my Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls. I also dabble in interior design, but I'm a little out of practice.

I post about the things I enjoy, which are sewing, photographing my dolls, designing new outfits, knitting, which I started in September of 2008, thanks to my Mom, and occasionally drawing, or painting.

I also post about Life Events and how they affect me and those that I love.

Currently I am living in DFW, Texas in the USA and working towards a degree in Theology.
