Yo-SD Jeans and Shirt

Well I decided to try to make as realistic a pair of jeans as possible in Yo-SD size and while it's missing a couple of details, like belt loops and back pockets, I'm really tired so those will have to wait till tomorrow.

I'm really displeased with how loose the thermal shirt I made is too. I wanted it to be snug and somewhat form-fitting like the way mine always used to be. Rather than taking this one in, I'm gonna try again by shrinking the pattern a little bit. The next will be made of the skull print thermal material I've got. I don't have a lot of it, but enough for a couple of shirts.

Anyway I'm pretty pleased with how the jeans fit, except that I'll need to put a second snap in the fly so it closes better. Tell me what you think!

I made bedding!

So, awhile back, I picked up this little blue doll bed at a local thrift store. I wasn't sure exactly who it was for or what I wanted to do with it. But then, last night I had the urge to make something for it. I wanted tp keep the bed on my bedside table, for when I'm not feeling well, and want one of my dolls within cuddle-reach, but not IN my bed.

So I looked through my fabric stash and stumbled upon this cute seudo-safari print I got back when I bought my first Yo. I had ideas about oneseys, and tiny pajamas and such, but I didn't know exactly what I wanted to do with it. When I found it, and saw that I'd bought a whole yard, I decided to use it for bed sheets with a some of my beige ribbed knit for accent pillows. And viola!

I stitched a little elephant to one of the biege pillows, and a lion to the other. And you can also see the little fingerless gloves I made for Ichigo.

And a few one-shots of Ichigo from yesterday. 8D

Fur Wig help? Where do you get YOUR fur?

I posted this request a few days ago over in the sewing and crafting section of Resinality, but I've had very little in the way of luck so I'm re-posting it here.
---
For those of you who enjoy making fur wigs, where do you get your (faux) fur? I can find a few colors sporatically at JoAnns and Hancock fabrics, but I really want/need a nice soft fluffy fur in white, and some in butter yellow, and have yet to find either in my local stores.

I recall someone saying at Nekocon (Dizziness maybe?) that they ordered their fur online. Where would I look? I'm wanting a white(and butter yellow too!) fur with the consistancy of the below, cotton candy blue. I would also rather like to get my hands on acid green and blindingly neon orange.

And, a shot of the white fur I'm craving. This wig is one made by Dizziness, that I borrowed from neoragdolls.

First Kiss(es)

I was unaware that the Resinality Galleries are private, so I'm posting the little photo story that I linked to yesterday. I think it was yesterday anyway. @_@

Ichigo: Smile for the camera! ;D
Eluria: I am!

Ichigo: I wanna give you a kiss!
Eluria: A kiss?

Ichigo: On the forehead. ;)

Eluria: ...
Ichigo: ..Ya know, despite my reputation I've never even kissed anyone..

Eluria: You can kiss me.

Eluria: I've never kissed anyone either.

Ichigo: Oh, you gave me your first kiss? ..Thanks.
Eluria: *blushes*

Omake:

I made the two of them friendship bracelets. :D

Ichigo

I posted a photostory over on Resinality! It's Ichigo's first kiss. Go look!

And a photo because I'm pleased with how his new wig came out.

Ichigo is doing what I love to do best for the holidays; lounging about in his pajamas.

Nekocon 10! (2007)

Well seeing as how Nekocon was the 2nd-4th it's about time I finally post the pictures eh? Pretty much all my pictures are of dolls so if that's not your thing move along. ;D

First we have Kyren, Eluria, Mel and Cory. Kyren belongs to Ginny (darkangelicsoul) and Eluria, Mel and 1/2 of Cory belong to Ti chan. She and I have joint ownership of Cory.

Next is Ichigo with Teseya's Ilya.

And again Ichigo with Ilya, and Shahna.

Just one of Ichigo, thought I'm not sure exactly when I took this one.

Ichigo with Trevor, Rissa's (neoragdolls) boy.

Now here is where I start not knowing names. This was a booth in Artist Alley, selling doll kimonos among other things. :3

And the Doll Panel, run by Dizziness. After all the information we took pictures of the dolls lined up on the tables in the front.

And now we have the Tea Party! Somehow I think there are less dolls this year than last year. o_O And yes these pictures are slightly larger, so you can see the dolls better.

And Ichigo and the twins with an ADORABLE Dollzone BB. I want one in tan to be Icarus, Ichigo's buddy. But first, one of just Ichigo in his slightly modified outfit for Saturday.

And! In this one, she is actually on Ichigo's back! I was able to get him to stand and her to grip well for a Piggyback ride. :3 I can't do that with the Yo-SD Twins, so that says alot for the Dollzone posing.

Quiz/Meme thing.

I saw this over on Mom's journal, and thought I'd answer it too.

1. What were you afraid of as a child?
Screaming, yelling, and being hit. Then spiders.

2. When have you been most courageous?
I have no clue, how to begin to answer that. I guess, when I was living in McAllen with my nightmarish inlaws.

3. What sound most disturbs you?
Animals in pain. It makes me scream in anger and fear and want to hurt people.

4. What is the greatest amount of physical pain you’ve been in?
I think the day I went to the ER for vomitting 12 hours straight. I ached all over and I wanted to gut myself to end the wrenching pain in my stomach. It turned out to be walking pneumonia.

5. What’s your biggest fear for your children?
That they will be miserable and depressed and I won't be able to do anything to help them. Second biggest fear is that regardless of what I teach them, they will turn to crime.

6. What is the hardest physical challenge you’ve achieved?
Standing up, walking, and job hunting when my back ranks at a 9 on the painchart.

7. Which do you prefer: Mountains or oceans/big water?
I've never seen Mountains (that I am aware of) but I do love the ocean. One of the best things about being in Virginia Beach is the beach. There really isn't a heck of a lot to DO around here, other than bum it at the beach, or visit all the touristy shops down at the waterfront.

8. What is the one thing you do for yourself that helps you keep everything together?
I sew. I draw. I cry on the shoulders of my friends and family. And when things get REALLY bad, I call my Mommy in tears.

9. Ever had a close relative or friend with cancer?
Yes, both of my grandparents on my Mom's side, and I think my father's father too.

10. What are the things your friends count on you for?
I'm reliable against all odds. If you tell me to be somewhere at a specific time, I will be there, and ready, even if it means I have to walk in the cold or rain to get there on time.

11. What is the best part of being in a committed relationship?
I don't know. I suppose, always having someone to turn to for support.

12. What is the hardest part of being in a committed relationship?
Fighting about money.

13. Summer or Winter?
Autumn

14. Have you ever been in a school-yard fight?
Several actually. The one I remember most vividly happened in Fredricksburg Texas. I heard a kid call an older sister of mine(whom I worshipped at that point, and still respect highly), a filthy name, and beat him up. I got in trouble, not for the bruises, or split lip, but because I tore his shirt.

15. Why blog?
Why not? It's about the same as a written journal but I can get feedback without exposing parts of myself I don't care to. It's also how I keep in touch with my friends all over the world.

16. Did you learn about sex, and/or sex safety from your parents?
No. I didn't learn in school either. What I knew, I knew from what my friends had figured out. I didn't know what sex was, until I was raped.

17. How do you plan to talk to your kids about sex and/or sex safety?
I plan to explain the basics of Mommy + Daddy = Baby, from early on, as soon as my children can understand me, and go into the logistics of it, around 8 or so, unless I see a need before then.

18. What are you most thankful for this year?
I'm thankful for my friends based here in Virginia Beach. They've gotten me through alot of crap this year, and it's really helped. I'm thankful for my family back home, as they continue to support me morally.

Cool Autumn Rain

I've been trying at every opportunity to get some shots of my boys in the rain. Only today was there enough light when it rained, that I was able to get any shots. Maybe next time I can get the twins ready in time too.

About Me

My photo
I'm Rory or Rorek in most places. I design, sew, and craft, primarily for my Asian Ball-Jointed Dolls. I also dabble in interior design, but I'm a little out of practice.

I post about the things I enjoy, which are sewing, photographing my dolls, designing new outfits, knitting, which I started in September of 2008, thanks to my Mom, and occasionally drawing, or painting.

I also post about Life Events and how they affect me and those that I love.

Currently I am living in DFW, Texas in the USA and working towards a degree in Theology.
