Wow. It took forever to kick that sickness. What started off as bizarre and sudden nausea, morphed into a nasty chest and sinus something that settled very firmly and took several full days to kick. I'm still coughing a bit, but now it's more a dry leftover cough, a reflex, than the lung-shaking/aching cough I've had for the last four days.
And now that I'm feeling pretty well recovered, I can't help but notice my hair is annoyingly long. I meant to cut it a week and a half ago before the plague set in. It's probably not really all that long to others, but my sideburns are going wild because of the way my glasses sit, and I keep getting tickled in the ears as a result which drives me absolutely insane. It doesn't look that long in photos because of the way it lies on me, but when I try to fluff it up, it ducktails in the front under its own weight.
You can sort of see what I mean here, but I think it might actually be about three and a half inches on top right now, which would put it at about two inches on the sides now*. I will likely buzz it back into shape in the next several days. And, the reason I'm not pale as a ghost, despite not being outdoors for any significant amount of time in weeks, is that I got a sunburn on Saturday, at the niece's soccer game. The game wasn't particularly long or anything but it was one of those alternatively sunny and overcast days, where a sunburn tends to burn stronger, than on an average day. *That's two and a half inches of hair growth in about three and a half weeks.
On a completely unrelated but equally amusing note, I saw The Producers finally. It's been sitting around, waiting to be watched, for a week or two, probably longer, and I decided tonight was a good night, since I've been watching Classic Who and the old black and white episodes are painful to watch in high definition on a laptop in the dark. Everything seems grainer, darker, shakier. Headache inducing at the very least. But anyway, watched The Producers, and I was thoroughly entertained. I do love musicals. :B
And over the past week I've also been playing pokemon on and off, while conscious, since I needed something to focus on, and my eyes were swimming too much, for anything else. I think I started off right around the first gym and I've now just about beat the game (Pokemon LeafGreen) short of beating the Elite Four. I'm currently hunting down any rare Pokemon I might have missed.
Not much else going on. STILL no hours at Hobby Lobby. When I called in this morning (Monday) and asked about hours, they recommended I find a second job to 'fill in the gap'. It's a bit of a gap when the first is giving me nothing. :P Ridiculous. Tomorrow, weather (and body) willing, I'll be riding my bike about and putting in applications again. I meant to do that this last week, but the plague struck me down. *knocks on wood* Wish me well.
Good luck.
